Less than 12 hours after turning in their first win of the season, the Bethel baseball team was back on the field. In a makeup contest that was rained out earlier this week, the Pilots picked up right where they left off, with their bats blazing. The offensive outpour led BC over the University of St. Francis (Ill.) by a score of 10-4. BC accumulated 16 hits which resulted in 10 runs as they took their second straight game, scoring double-digit runs in both.
After falling in the day's opener 9-1 to Siena Heights, Bethel baseball rebounded in a big way earning their first win of the season over Warner University 10-3. The win puts BC's overall record at 1-11 on the season.
In rainy conditions, the Bethel Pilots struggled to compete against No. 14 Bellevue in the first matchup of the Warner University Tournament on Thursday morning. Bellevue blanked the Pilots 6-0 sending BC to 0-10 on the season. The Pilots' second game that was scheduled to be played at 12:30 PM has been postponed due to rain.
The Bethel Pilots came very close to notching their first win of the 2014 season but came up just short in their seven-inning battle with the Saints of Siena Heights University. The loss drops BC to 0-9 on the season with five games remaining in their spring break southern tour before heading back to Indiana.
