The Bethel Pilots softball team snapped a four-game losing streak in fashion by defeating Goshen College in a back-and-forth battle in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.  After offensive woes led to a 1-10 loss in the opener, Bethel's bats woke up to help the Pilots earn a 9-8 victory over the Maple Leafs in game two of the twinbill. With the 1-1 result, BC jumps back into eighth place in league standings with a 10-20 league record. Overall, the Pilots land a 14-24 overall record with eight games remaining in the regular season.

The Bethel softball team dropped a pair of contests to the Foresters of Huntington University on Friday afternoon, falling 0-3 in 10 innings of play in game one and then 1-5 in game two. The losses are the third and fourth on the season suffered at the hands of the Foresters.  The two negative results move the Pilots' season record to 13-23 overall and 9-19 in Crossroads League action.

Back on the road again, the BC softball team earned a split with Grace College as the teams collided for the third and fourth times this season.  In both doubleheaders, the Pilots and Lancers have split. The Pilots move to 13-21 on the season and 9-17 in Crossroads League play after the 1-1 day while Grace advances to 22-17 overall and 15-11 in the League.

Boosting the Pilots to a pair of upsets this week, senior slinger Natalie Newell has been named the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week. This is the second nod of the season for Newell for the weekly award and marks her 11th overall nod during her four-year career. With 11 career MCC/Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week honors, Newell ties assistant coach Brittney (Hire) Lightfoot for the most weekly honors in a career for a Bethel pitcher.
