The Pilots 303-298 finished fourth in a field of 16 teams Friday and Saturday at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, IN.

Junior Brady Klotz, who struggled on day one, bounced back in a big way Saturday with a three under par 69 to pace the Pilots. Freshmen Brian Ulrich 78-75 and Drew Day 76-78 continued to show that they will be a force for years to come, while Greggy Lebold 78-76 fought his way to respectability. Jon Enfield, who carried the Pilots on day one with an Even par 72 had it going again on Saturday, but struggled late and couldn't catch fire on his way to a disappointing 80.

Sometimes winning isn't pretty… but this time, it was a thing of beauty, as the Bethel College men's golf team traveled to Marion, Ind. and came away the big winners at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at Meshingomesia Country Club.

The Pilots held the 18 hole day one lead with a team score of 295. Freshman Brian Ulrich led the way with an even par 72, while grizzled veterans Jon Enfield and Brady Klotz each carded 74. Drew Day, another fabulous frosh, added 75 to round out the day one scoring for Bethel, who held a slim six stroke lead over Holy Cross.

Klotz, who recently enjoyed celebrity status with his encounter with Tiger Woods as well as his U.S. Amateur appearance, led the way with a two under par 70, leaving some to question whether it was Tiger, not he, who should be seeking an autograph. After enduring a triple bogey on his second hole of the day, Klotz played his final 16 holes at five under par, just missing a birdie putt on the 18th hole for a 69. His two day total of 144 (74-70) was good enough to get him into a sudden death playoff for medalist, which he won on the first hole.
