Just days after two lopsided losses to the NAIA No.18 and Crossroads League leader, Mount Vernon Nazarene, the Bethel baseball team put together a gutsy performance that led to a twelve-inning marathon game with the Cougars. Unfortunately, the Pilots came up just short of the upset falling 9-8 after twelve complete innings. The Cougars flexed their muscles in game two defeating BC by a score of 10-1 and sweeping the Pilots on the day.

Coming off a successful four-game series against IWU where the Pilots won three games, Bethel ran into a big roadblock as they faced the top team in the Crossroads League. The 18th ranked Cougars of Mount Vernon were too much for the Pilots to handle as Bethel was swept on by scores of 15-5 and 12-1 dropping their record to 10-27 on the season.

The Bethel baseball team travelled to Marion, Indiana on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a sweep of the IWU Wildcats by scores of 4-3 and 6-3. The two wins keep the Pilots relevant in the race to make the Crossroads League postseason tournament and gives the team momentum as they head into a four-game series with NAIA No. 22 Mount Vernon.
