Marion, Ind. - The Bethel men's tennis team was eliminated in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals by top-seeded and undefeated Indiana Wesleyan 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The Pilots fall to 5-9 and will conclude their fall schedule with a non-conference matchup against Purdue-Northwest on Monday, October 9, at Knollwood Country Club in Granger.
Jacob Macri (JR/Granger, Ind) battled at one singles, winning six games in two sets, but could not break through in a 3-6, 3-6 defeat. Likewise, two doubles of Evan Ferguson (FR/Evansville, Ind.) and Sidney Petersen (JR/Decatur, Ind.) were competitive in an 8-4 defeat.
"As the undefeated and top-seeded team in the tournament, IWU proved to be worthy of their ranking," stated Director of Tennis John Natali. "Still, our guys gave great effort throughout the line-up. Jacob played very well again at one singles, but fell short."
