It became a two-award week for Philip Fox after his record-setting performance at the IWU Multi Event last weekend. On Monday, Fox picked up Crossroads League Field Athlete of the Week honors for his efforts on the track, and on Tuesday, Fox doubled up by picking up the NCCAA Men's Field Student-Athlete of the Week nod as well.
Fox took first place overall at IWU, building up a 714-point lead by the end of the 10-event competition. Fox won six events, including the 1,500-meter run (4:45.42), discus (32.86), 110-meter hurdles (16.16), 400-meter run (51.07), long jump (6.7) and 100-meter dash (11.53). With his tally of 6,273, Fox now owns the second-best decathlon score in the NAIA this season, trailing Joe Dotson from Southern Oregon who turned in a 6,304 earlier this spring.
The Pilots will return to action on April 21st and 22nd at the Little State Championships hosted by Taylor University.
