The Bethel College men's tennis team opened their 2013 spring season on Wednesday afternoon by hosting Goshen College. The Pilots lost by the score of 9-0, dropping their overall season mark to 3-12.

The match began with doubles play where Goshen won all three matches rather easily. However in singles play, the Pilots raised their level of play substantially, but still failed to come away with a match victory.

"This was our first opportunity to play outdoors this spring", stated Bethel coach, John Natali. "And it showed in how we played our doubles matches. But our guys all came out and played very well in their first singles sets, but just couldn't win that critical point to get over the hump. We will get back to work tomorrow and be ready for the next challenge on Friday. "

The Pilots will return to action on Friday, April 5th when they will travel to Defiance College (OH) for a match set to begin at 3:30pm.
