Women's Tennis - Thu, Aug. 16, 2012

The 2012 Bethel College women's tennis team will be looking to build upon the success they achieved last season in posting an impressive 15-8 record and competing at a very high level at the 2012 NCCAA National Championship Tournament in Mobile, Alabama. With all but one player returning from last year's line-up, the 2012 campaign should be an exciting one. The fall season will kick-off on Wednesday, August 29th with the Lady Pilots hosting Spring Arbor University at Baker Park in Mishawaka.

Among those returning for the Lady Pilots will be all-conference performer and an NCCAA first team All-American, Molly O'Grady. Also returning will be a pair of second team NCCAA All-Americans in Whitney Neuenschwander and Bethany Blodgett. Other veterans returning in 2012 include Melissa Ramer, Jill Focht, Morgan McFarren, and Jessica Steensma. Sophomores who gained substantial playing time in 2011 include Taryn Johnson and Taylor Atkins. Classmates Samantha Lukas and Lindsey Graber return as well this fall. And sophomore, Kelsey Stichter has recovered from successful knee surgery and will certainly challenge for considerable court time in 2012. Rounding out the roster this fall will be freshman, Lillian Anderson (Lebanon, IN).

"Last season, our women's team was a relatively young squad," stated coach, John Natali. "However, they really came together and enjoyed a great year. Now we will have a very experienced group heading into the 2012-13 campaign, ready to challenge everyone on our schedule. We are definitely looking forward to another outstanding season of Lady Pilot tennis."
