Carroll High School's Blake Seward has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his soccer and academic careers beginning in the 2012-2013 school year at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind.
Blake was a first-team all-conference and first-team all-district selection last season. Seward scored 17 goals in 2011, including a pair of hat tricks, in leading Carroll to a 13-2-2 record last fall. Carroll boys soccer head coach Dave Falkenberg said, "Seward set a great example for his Cougars teammates during his four seasons as a starter. The biggest thing that set him apart was that he was the hardest worker on the team."
"Blake is a great fit for us. He's hard-working and humble," stated Bethel Head Coach Thiago Pinto. "Blake is another trustee scholar that we sign into our program for next year and I am excited to see how he will develop both on and off the field over the next few years. Blake is a very versatile player who will give us great depth in a lot of different positions. We are excited to have him join the Bethel soccer family."
Seward's signing was attended by a number of friends and family members, including his mother, Kristen, his father, Rod, his two sisters, Alivia and Joy, and brother, Travis.
