Janelle Bagneski was a model of efficiency in pushing Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) to the second round of the State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. Bagneski's 20 points fueled the Wolves to a 71-58 victory over Bethel (Ind.) on Thursday.

Ashlee Ort (16 points) and Laura Johnson (14 points) allowed the Lady Pilots to stick around until late in the game. Bethel trailed by a 61-55 score after a Georgia Boisse bucket with 7:28 remaining in the game. But the Lady Pilots would go on to score just three more points the rest of the game and shot 36.2 percent for the game.

The play of Bagneski and company was too much, however. The senior guard, who came in averaging 7.8 points per game, also added six rebounds and four assists and did not commit a turnover in 36 minutes of action. Michelle Piepenburg chipped in 14 points and Kayla Chapman recorded 13.

Cardinal Stritch (27-6) will meet Concordia (Neb.) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the tournament's second round.
